Special Prayers
Peyton has a malignant brain tumor.
Peyton initially had brain surgery and 90% of her tumor was removed.
She then had 6 weeks straight of chemo and radiation. That ended
last August. Through it all, she has showed such courage for a 6, now
7 year old. She had a few good months from Aug to January ~ her
tumor wasn't gone but remained stable. However, in January it
started growing with a vengeance (which is what these particular type
of tumors are known for) and her decline began and in the past few
months life has been very difficult for this sweet little soul. She has
lost the ability to use her right side almost totally, her vision in her left
eye is impaired so badly that she can no longer do what she really
loved to do which was to read books. Many experimental chemos have
been tried on her ~ thankfully none caused harm but none has pushed
back the ever growing tumor. She can barely talk now and her swallow
reflex is becoming a real problem. Her deterioration over the last 2
weeks has been rapid and significant.
Our family was told last Thursday by her pediatric oncologist that the
chemo is not working and she does not expect Peyton will survive till
Labor Day. We are just heartbroken but as a family of Christians, we
still pray for a earthly healing for her. We have organized a prayer vigil
to go round the world.
